Name: Kazuo Masayoshi
Age: 400 years old (Appears 19)
Date of Birth: May 5
Acting Skills: 2
Blood Type: B+
Kazuo is a relatively averagely-height, muscular young man, with black hair (that appears dark blue in bright light) and light brown eyes. He wears the standard shinigami uniform, which sometimes has its sleeves rolled up and kept into place with bandages for hand-to-hand fighting, along with his golden looped necklace. His sword and sheath is mostly kept at the left side of his waist, but may be switched to the other side during often injuries, so that he can draw it with his opposing hand. Having come from a yakuza family, his shoulder area, reaching down to half of his upper body and to his back, is covered with specifically designed tattoos representing the clan. He additionally keeps the left half his hair covering one of his eyes partway due to it’s long length, though may be pushed back behind his ear. In Gigai, he wears a slick black coat and pants with the family’s name written on an armband, positioned on his upper left arm, a half-unbuttoned red shirt, a studded belt, and black dress shoes. He may also wear dark sunglasses, his usual necklace, and have his sword hanging a tad from his left side, on a chain.
He has a number of faded scars throughout his body, along with numerous, particularly designed tattoos reaching throughout most of his upper torso, arms, and his back. They are in the design of multiple torrential waves.
Kazuo is a relatively dark-minded man. He is a tad anxious, often breaking out into short temperamental spasms due to having lived a large part of his life around Yazuka, their actions/ways rubbed onto him. This type of lifestyle has worn off from living in the Soul Society, where he has grown to be more determined in his work, to the point he is overworking. This further connects with the fact that he uses most of his free time smoking (though he has tried to quit this recently, after an incident) and drinking, in hopes of calming down his nerves, in which he has much trouble doing – getting into fights/arguments easily because of. He also writes poetry, plays the piano, and hums to himself regularly, another way of keeping himself at a levelheaded pace.
Kazuo grew up into a premature/beginning time of Yakuza clans, and rather into a large one, the surrounding environment rather lucky – nearing a well-off village, with a late castle not too far off. Both of his parents were high representatives on the board and rarely saw their children because of this (his father always away at the castle where he worked, giving occasional visits, and his mother working full-time away from the home, travelling); expecting both him, and his older brother, Seiichi, to follow obediently after, resulting in strict regulations and manners for both boys to follow, in order to both train for their future, and to give the family a good appearance, including multiple training sessions and getting tattooed with the clan’s markings. Things continuing on from childhood were very much smooth, though gradually increased into harsher versions of ‘play fighting’ and mock ruling, with the two boys, alongside other children, banding together. His sister was also born quite near this time, adjusting to their parents giving less attention to them for the newborn and their actual jobs; leaving the boys to mostly freedom. The time continued well much like this, and around the age eleven, Kazuo alongside the other younglings him and his brother played besides, formed their own gang, and began to go to town on a regular basis, bullying/beating/putting themselves on a higher status when it came to children their age or younger. At the time, he was mostly unsure about doing it in general, though Seiichi’s pressure towards his sibling managed to put more pressure down; the other playing along, and soon, actually getting caught up into it. The years continued to go by rather speedily, and soon Kazuo began to smoke and drink around the age of twelve, rather distancing himself from his brother, who he noticed was leading up into worse terms, in possible acts of looking “cool” and “tough”. Uncomfortable from the situation, he managed to convince his parents to work at a part-time job where his father was, as an employee, specifically a drug/weaponry smuggler, to the political figures of the nearby castle. This wasn’t after some time though, his parents well against it since he was still young, but managed to turn in, seeing he was just ‘trying to become like them.’ As a result, he got to spend less time with the other boys and his brother, though still drank and smoked with them when he was off job, in order to avoid Seiichi’s mockeries of dishonouring the code and not being a man. Eventually, he tired himself out from this, giving up and turning home as soon as he could, where for once, he actually noticed his younger sister, Saori. The two siblings didn’t have much of the chance to bond earlier; due to the fact Kazuo spent most of the time out of the house. During this time, the time was actually made up, the younger sister often encouraging him positively and ceasing his tension by means otherwise; actually causing his hopes to lift up and to carry on for some time with a lessened drinking and smoking amount. At one festival, Saori pointed out that she liked the Empress doll; specifically the one wearing the red dress, and asked her brother to buy it for her, though at the time, he hadn’t earned enough money. Seeing that the younger sibling was disappointed, Kazuo promised that he would buy it one day, when he had enough, seeing the item was rather expensive. This concluded to be quite the challenge, since money tended to slip out of his hands easily, even as he slowly put some hard-worked funds aside. He eventually had to increase the hours in his job around the age of thirteen, in order continue to have a well amount, since half of it was going to his main family, and the other to saving up for his sister – the rest either being ‘loaned’ by his brother, who disappeared and reappeared every now and then, though never returned it, or being used for other terms. It soon came to his decision to stop loaning some of the currency to Seiichi, and began living in the actual castle where he worked often, slipping off into full-time working, similar to his father. When he finally got some time off from work, and decided to visit home, he had found out that once he had stopped loaning to his older sibling, Seiichi lead to much more physical blows at Saori, living back at the house in a colder manner and beating the youngest child of the trio. Kazuo was soon forced to take the blows for his sister and try to calm the commotion down, since he didn’t want to leave for work again with the same manner still continuing on, and somewhat got his wish, with one of Seiichi’s friends making Saori rat out about the story under threat, except with Kazuo abusing her instead as the twist. The second oldest child wasn’t there at the time in that it was told, presuming that it was his sister’s fault entirely and put the entire blame on her, giving a whole new view for the other sibling. Because of the story told also, he was fired from his job and without much more comfort, resulted back to his old habits of smoking and drinking again, alongside stress and pressure from surrounding figures. In time, he mentally broke down, and made a large deal with another Yakuza clan with what money he had saved up for the doll, seeing it wasn’t much use anymore. However, as he finally was able to recover and settle down a tad, he finally listened to Saori, finding out how she was forced to tell a lying version of what had happened, or else it would’ve gotten worse. He was able to painfully forgive her, deciding to make it up by buying the doll she had always wanted – though once having it brought it for her, found out that it was the one wearing mostly white instead, being they no longer had the red ones. Still mending the bonds with her brother, Saori was maddened that it wasn’t the exact doll she had wanted, though took it anyway, seeing it was a gift from her brother. Kazuo had forgotten all about the deal with the other clan also, until the time he and his sister fought once again, her rushing out the door and promising to throw out the doll as a result. It also happened to be the same day as that he was supposed to meet the opposing Yakuza clan, and with Saori not returning for many hours, Kazuo began to search out, bits of worrying and the actual realization of the clan possibly lurking around. While searching, he was surprisingly knocked out, only to wake up some time later to see that the clan caught both him and his sister, who still had the doll, figuring out that they were somewhat related by the tattoos. It was also very much disgraceful and against much of the code to not show up, especially since rather a large amount of money was at stake, and they noted that it had to be made up somehow; thus ripped out Saori’s innards and dislocated her while she was still alive, keeping Kazuo held back, and watching it all in the meantime, in order to teach him a lesson. Eventually, he managed to wring himself from his weakened position, to try and rescue his sister, alongside the doll, and run off, even in what state of being she was, though was chased down and once weakened, stabbed repeatedly to death; the doll that was somehow kept with all along, finally turning red, as Saori had wanted. He died as a human at the age of fifteen.
Ryūketsu Inku (流血インク), Japanese for “Bloodshed Ink”: Kazuo’s Zanpakuto takes on the form of a katana with a polished blade, and a golden guard in the shape of joined, designed circles. Its handle has a pattern with black bandages with a line of red, sewn circles, and two red ribbons hanging from the end. The sheath is of a similar black sleekness, with a large red ribbon tied around its upper part.
Inner World: Kazuo’s Inner World takes place as a barren, wasted land made of rubble and dirt; all vegetation and seeming life forces, even those of plants, having disappeared. If one journey’s further into the world, eventually the sights of a lone fountain can be seen, spraying out black oil in place, proning itself to soon fill the world with itself. The ‘sky’ above usually remains a light blue, clouds hinted here and there, though may get darker/change with natural sky colours, at times.
Zanpakuto Spirit: The Zanpakuto Spirit appears as a pale, black-haired young girl wearing a simple, tattered black dress, skin blotched with a dark substance. She also has her neck, ankles, and wrists heavily cuffed/chained, which adjusts onto the user when in the Inner World. She is often seen carrying an ink slab and leaves black traces behind (in a blood-like format), staying near the fountain trying to dish out the black substance for it to not overfill, using the slab like a spoon.
Kobosu, Ryūketsu Inku! (こぼす流血インク): Spill, Bloodshed Ink!
Form: In Shikai, Ryūketsu Inku curves and becomes larger by a tad. In this form, the blade appears duller to the extent it almost looks black. The ribbons towards the other end of the sword also grow larger and become almost metal, balancing the sword and also serving as a side-use for a weapon.
Oiru Kyūryū (オイル急流): Oil Torrent
Summary: Charges itself up with a black, ink-like substance to spray out a torrent. It eventually hardens making it hard/heavy to move.
The Zanpakuto must have the blade come in contact with solid ground, be it best that cement, or hardened dirt, so that both combined spiritual pressure and abilities may allow to ‘energize’ itself with the ground’s properties, as well as it’s own. After some time of charging itself up, the blade will have it’s outer edges lined with a black, ink-like substance, which when slashed harshly against solid, inanimate objects, can create a small ink-like torrent that can reach up to one to two meters in length. Upon touching a target, it may harden the spots eventually after a couple of minutes, if left unattended, making it hard/heavy to move. The downsides of this include that it takes some time to charge up, can be smudged off onto other objects (before it dries/hardens) to stop the effects from happening, and in rainy weather/in wet areas, can be null or weaker.
Fushoku Nami (腐食波): Corroding Wave
Summary: With touching physical surface, spreads a black ink-like substance where the sword has slashed, corroding cloth/easy material and/or giving skin irritation, with likewise.
The Zanpakuto must have the blade come in contact with solid ground, best be it that cement, or hardened dirt, so that both combined spiritual pressure and abilities may allow to ‘energize’ itself with the ground’s properties, as well as it’s own. From hereon, one may try to strike the enemy at close range, so that the blade touches physical surface, though instead of cutting, spreads black ink-like substance in the place where it has been slashed, which slowly corrodes the area on cloth/easy material, and few Hollows, though may not due as much but skin irritation (though may increase over time to headaches/severe burn-like markings left in the area, if left unattended), that make increase over time, as a distraction/annoyance purpose, if not washed off. It can easily spread to areas, since it is easy to smudge, though if it is put over a wider range, may prove more weaker. Downsides include that the Zanpakuto’s effect with this power may be drawn back by means of being nullized with wet surfaces/rain, making its effect weakened by much, when having touched inanimate objects connected directly to the Earth (e.g. walls, fences, trees, etc.), the destructive ‘ink’ inside is lessened/taken away, it takes some time to charge up (in which one must keep still/have the blade connected to the ground all the while, or else it will be cancelled), and that depending on the amount of ‘ink’ used up, will have to take some time to charge up once again, in which if it immediately used after, will take even more time. It also can harm the user itself when let off.
Hakka Suru Inku (発火する): Igniting Ink
(*Limited, since requires the help of a fire-based Zanpakuto user, in order for to work, though can be done on own, with much weaker results*)
Summary: Both the black, ink-like substance can be combined with igniting substances to create flammable, spreading fires, based on properties, and small explosions.
The Zanpakuto must have the blade come in contact with solid ground, be best that cement, or hardened dirt, so that both combine spiritual pressure and abilities, allowing it to ‘energize’ itself with the ground’s properties, as well as it’s own. After charging for some while, the blade will have its outer edges lined with black, ink-like substance, similar to ‘Oil Torrent,’ except in which it can subsequently thrown/combined with igniting substances to create very flammable ‘fires’ due to vapour and reactions, also miniature explosions, only working however if both are combined at an exact timing. The ink-like substance first must be set down and spread in order for the ‘fires’ to work though, without being touched. Downsides to this include that it may also harm the user, it cannot be controlled at very much ease, it takes time to charge up, and that wet/rainy surfaces may weaken it.
Tetsu Hakai In Purinto (鉄破壊インプリント): Iron-Destruction Imprint
Form: In Bankai, Ryūketsu’s blade and ribbons become larger once more, the black bandages unravelling to appear more menacing and wilder. The blade also dulls further into a pitch black.
Kuro Tsunami (黒い津波): Black Tsunami
Summary: After dragging the blade across the ground for some time, and flicking ones wrist, a tall, vertical wall of black, ink-like substance will be released.
The Zanpakuto must have the blade come in contact with solid ground, best be it that cement, or hardened dirt, so that both combined spiritual pressure and abilities may allow to ‘energize’ itself with the ground’s properties, as well as it’s own. The blade must always be touching the ground without a single lift, or else the move will be negated. The user must always be striding around also, without staying still, so that when the time is needed, they will flick their wrist, a thin stream of black, ink-like substance spraying upwards for a couple of seconds to half a minute, serving like a wall. This can be used both as an attack and defence; having served as a barrier, quick distraction, and also containing the same hardening factors as ‘Oil Torrent’, though if struck well to the enemy may also serve as an offensive. Downsides to this include that one must always be moving, without the blade lifting the ground (the move will be negated), the attack is made weaker with wet surfaces/likewise, and takes time to charge up, if wanted to use well.
Fukushū Genzai (復讐現在): Avenging Current
Summary: An evolved version of ‘Corroding Wave,’ in which it can be released at call in long-distance, with heightened effects of its previous evolution.
After the Zanpakuto has come in contact with solid ground, be best that cement, or hardened dirt, both spiritual pressure and abilities may allow to ‘energize’ itself with both itself and the ground’s properties. It does not immediately release, unlike ‘Corroding Wave,’ instead building itself up inside the blade and being released on call as many waves/currents, multiple times, having the same corroding/likewise powers as ‘Corroding Wave’, though can now affect inanimate objects also and heightens its previous powers. This is also long/far-range attack. Downsides include the Zanpakuto’s effect with this power may be drawn back by means of being nullized with wet surfaces/rain, making its effect weakened by much, it takes some time to charge up, and that depending on the amount of ‘ink’ used up, will have to take some time to charge up once again, and in which if it immediately used after, will take even more time. It also can harm the user itself when let off.
Mada Shio (まだ潮): Still Tide
Summary: After charging, a black, ink-like substance is released, that hardens up quickly so that it can be used for multiple reasons.
After the Zanpakuto has come in contact with solid ground, be best that cement, or hardened dirt, both spiritual pressure and abilities may allow to ‘energize’ itself with both itself and the ground’s properties. Upon being lifted up as so, a torrent/controlled wave of black, ink-like substance may be released with will, much like how a painter does, swinging the blade to create a wave, which in some matter of time, hardens up quickly, so that it can be used as a throwing/impaling object, to be walked on, cage, and so forth. This does take much longer time to charge up compared to the rest of the attacks, and when released, must be connecting to a solid object in order for it to form (e.g. striking from ground and upwards, or in between two walls), or else it will normally just negate. The hardened material in this state is very thick, making it harder to break, though can be made weaker with water-based items. Downsides to this include that it takes some time to charge up, must be connecting from solid/physical object before usage, and in rainy weather/in wet areas, can be null or weaker.
• Due to the large amount of his childhood being sustained in violent manners, the events following (such as his sister’s death), and substance abuse, Kazuo has grown to have IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder), thus:
-Being unable to control his anger/emotions during moments, and randomly breaking out, even in calm situations (especially when seeing too much blood; having it remind him of previous events)
-Having either of his hands twitching/shaking at times
• Though he can hold his liquor quite well, when drunk, Kazuo tends to be either quite personal, or happy and very much a talker, which is usually a downside when it comes to spilling information
• Kazuo is more of a close-range and physical fighter, rather than when it comes to more magic/spiritual-based things
• Drinking and smoking
• Weaponry (Especially the latest/up-to-date)
• His younger sister
• Soft, melodic tunes, Singing
• The cold
• Being reminded repeatedly
• Missing/Losing things
• Having to spend money

“I can’t rewind those times, can I?”
“That’s…nice, that you did something like that.”
clean up that mess.”
Kazuo strode down the long, stretched hallway, rubbing the side of his temple in fatigue, book in hand. “She wasn’t meant to die like that,” he muttered, shoulders tensing upwards, hands curling into balled-up fists. “Goddamnit, no one was meant to.” He let in a couple of short, deep breaths, calming himself down once more. He needed a cigar, did he? Or how about reading the latest book in the library? Something, something distracting at least. He shoved the attentive thoughts away, continuing to stride on, replacing the dark frown upon his face with a much more friendlier smile. There was no time for that.
